  1. On Sept 16th, 1928, thousands were killed by a Hurricane that hit South Florida. The book Killer 'Cane describes that horrific night & aftermath. This book written by Author Robert Mykle, is a must read for hurricane fanatics. Listen to the interview.
  2. On Sept 8th, 1900 the United States experienced it's highest death toll ever from a disaster. The great Galveston hurricane killed between 6 and 8 thousand people on Sept 8th. The book "Galveston's Summer of the Storm" written by Julie Lake, places you in the hurricane through the eyes of a 14 year old girl.
