hits just south from the ESE with 120mph winds moderate damage here mostly from flooding.
In 1999 aug 22nd Hurricane Bret hits north end from the S.E with 125mph winds.caused 12 new cuts on islands.
2008 July 23rd Hurricane Dolly hits south Padre Island with 85mph winds . Most wind damage caused by S.W & West winds up to 80mph. Roof damage broken glass & signs on Padre Island. Storm surges of up to 4 feet were observed at South Padre Island, Port Mansfield, and the Port of Brownsville, Texas. Water flowed eastward from the Laguna Madre, inundating the bay side of South Padre Island with 3 to 4 feet of water.
