2004 ,sept 11th hit by Hurricane Ivan with 155mph winds moving approx 70 miles to the south with Ivan having a wind field approx 85 miles out. Moderate damage in Port Antonio.
2005 Hurricane Dennis passes just north by 35 miles as a cat 2 on July 7th with 105 to 110mph winds. Badly affected by heavy rains from Hurricane Dennis. Among the most affected was the Nightingale community, off Old Harbour Road.
