1873 a large a powerful hurricane with 105mph winds passes over the island on aug 25th. This was a deadly hurricane killing over 500 in Nova scotia even though it passes far south of Nova Scotia. 1892 aug 22nd a 90mph hurricane center passes just east.
1893 aug 17th a 95mph hurricane center passes just east.
1908 sept 18th a 80mph hurricane hits direct.
