1963 Oct 8th,hurricane Flora hits with 85mph from the WSW just south causing moderate to heavy damage. NHC wallet
1985 Nov 18th, 90mph hurricane kate passes just south from the east. NHC wallet
2004,Sept 2nd Hurricane Frances passes just North with 145mph winds,causing minor to moderate damage here from the ESE, one death in Bahamas.NHC report
2011, Aug 24th Hurricane Irene passes over while moving WNW with 115mph winds causing heavy damage.Extreme heavy damage up to 90% NEMA said that 90 percent of the settlement at Lovely Bay, Acklins has been wiped out. Irene model history
2015 Oct 2nd Hurricane Joaquin hits the north part of the island while turning north with 130mph winds.Seven or eight homes reported totally destroyed with reports of many untility poles down. Significant flooding in Delectable Bay, Snug Corner in the North and Mason’s Bay. Five houses were destroyed in Mason’s Bay and four in Snug Corner. 2017 Sept 8th Hurricane Irma hits just south by 59 miles with 150mph winds while moving west,wide spread damage reported. NHC report
