Oct 1st 2002 Hurricane Lili hits with 95mph winds from the ESE ,reports of heavy damage by this strengthening Hurricane, the second in 2 weeks. Heavy losses in coffee,banana & rice crops. 38,000 homes damaged 1 killed.
2004 ,sept 13th hit by Hurricane Ivan with 160mph winds moving NW over the west tip of Cuba with Ivan having a wind field approx 85 miles out. Heavy damage & surge flooding.13.33 inches of rain in western Cuba,mud slides cut off at least two towns. Measured gusts of 119mph to 166mph
