In 1909 just north a hurricane hits killing 1,500 mostly inland from flooding AUG 20
1970 SDept 12th Hurricane Ella hits with 90mph winds, press 28.55. One reported gusts to 130mph,no deaths reported but rivers overflowed banks
1977 hurricane Anita hits with 140mph winds, before landfall recon found a pressure of 27.35 & sustained winds of 170mph.
1988 hurricane Gilbert hits with 130mph winds in mid sept 60,000 homes destroyed & 202 killed in surrounding areas of mexico.In La pesca the storm surge reached 2 miles inland.
1995 Gabrielle hits with 70mph winds press 29.18 dumps very heavy rains
